Henry Louis Pedigo

Henry Louis Pedigo was born about 1803 in Halifax County, Virginia to John Henry Pedigo and Lucinda Leah Cochran. Shortly after his birth the family moved from Virginia to Barren County, Kentucky. When Henry was just 7 years old his father was cutting trees down to clear some of the land on his property and was struck by a falling tree which killed him.

At the age of 20 Henry married Judith Farley on 24 July 1823[1]. Judith was the daughter of Clay and Lettice (Lettie) McCarthy Farley. In May 1824 their first child was born followed by 8 more children. Henry worked as a farmer. According to census records, Henry, his wife Judith and their youngest son Lewis moved to East Fork in Metcalfe County from Barren County[3]. The 1860 census[2] showed the family living on property next to their daughter Spicey, her husband Samuel Hood and their children. Henry died on 16 November 1863 in Metcalfe County, Kentucky at the age of 61[4]. His wife Judith died the following year.
